Joe Neal - Regional Councillor Wards 1 and 2

Councillor NealJoe Neal is serving his second term on Council. Formerly a Councillor for Ward 1, Joe has been elected as Regional Councillor representing Wards 1 and 2. Joe has lived in Courtice since 1990. He is a married father of three.

Joe is a lawyer, and has been for the past 30 years. He sits on numerous committees including: the Public Library Board, Solina Hall Board and Darlington Nuclear Community Advisory Committee.

Willie Woo - Regional Councillor Wards 3 and 4

Councillor WooWillie Woo is serving his third term on Council. The Woo family has called Clarington home for nearly 60 years. Willie's parents immigrated to Canada and ran a successful business for 30 years. The family became an integral part of the community inspiring Willie to volunteer and work in the community.

Willie is a retired employee of Goodyear Bowmanville plant. He sits on numerous committees including: Museums and Archives Board, Newcastle Arena Board, Orono Arena Community Centre Board, Tyrone Hall Board, Newcastle Village CIP, Newcastle Village Community Hall Board and St. Mary's Cement Community Relations Committee.

Steven Cooke - Councillor Ward 1

Councillor CookeSteven Cooke is the newest member of Council. Steven was raised in Clarington. Steven and his wife, Sarah, and their three beautiful daughters, Reagan, Olivia, and Charlotte have made Clarington their home.

Steven has extensive experience in leadership and public service. He represented Clarington as a Trustee on the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board from 2006 to 2014. During that time, he served as chair of every economic portfolio where he was able to push for new builds, improved technology, and financial literacy. Steven has extensive background and knowledge of all levels of government, he has worked for both Federal and Provincial Cabinet Ministers.

Steven also worked as the Executive Director of the Navy League of Canada (Ontario Division) for five years. There, he managed a $2 million budget and eliminated the League's deficit, while making the operation profitable and managing the day-to-day tasks.

Steven sits on a variety of committees including: Museums and Archives Board, Solina Hall Board, Darlington Nuclear Community Advisory Committee, Friends of Second Marsh and Visual Arts Centre.

Ron Hooper - Councillor Ward 2

Councillor HooperRon is serving his third term in office. He is a lifelong resident of Bowmanville and is the President of Hooper's Jewellers. It's a family owned business celebrating 70 years of success. Ron and his wife Joan, have two daughters, three grandsons and one granddaughter.

Ron is a former Chair of historic Downtown Bowmanville and has served on the Board of Management for over 20 years. Ron has been involved with the Bowmanville BIA Board of Management since 1986, and has chaired the organization for 13 years. He is a former President of the CBOT and a past Chairman of the Canadian Jewellery Buying Group.

Ron is the recipient of several accolades. In 2014, he was presented with the Award of Distinction from Durham College his alma mater. He is also a Rotary, Paul Harris Fellow Recipient.

Ron sits on numerous committees including: the Abandoned Cemeteries Board, Heritage Committee, Public Library Board, Bowmanville CIP, Bowmanville Santa Claus Parade Committee, Clarington Older Adult Centre Board, Central Lake Conservation Board and Kawartha Conservation Board.

Corinna Traill - Councillor Ward 3

Councillor TraillCorinna returns for a second term on Council. Corinna is a lifelong Bowmanville resident. Corinna is a lawyer and runs her own practice; she specializes in labour, criminal and family law.

Corinna is an advocate for social justice issues and is a member of Equal Voice. She is also a member of the Canadian Industrial Relations Association, the Canadian Association of Labour Lawyers and the Women's Legal Education and Action Fund.

Corinna is the Council representative for the Samuel Wilmot Nature Area Management Advisory Committee, and sits on the Bethesda House, Tyrone Hall Board and the Central Lake Ontario Conservation Authority Board.

Wendy Partner - Councillor Ward 4

Councillor PartnerThis is Wendy's second term as Councillor representing Ward 4. Wendy is a lifelong Clarington resident and lives in Orono. Wendy's interest in public service stems from the work her father did as Chair of Newcastle Hydro (now known as Veridian). She is very passionate about her community and dedicated to making a difference.

She has operated her own business since 2001. Wendy is a member of the Port Hope Area Initiative Committee overseeing the cleanup of the Port Granby area. She is a Director on the Bethesda Cemetery Board. Wendy is the Council Liaison to Clarington Agriculture Committee, Orono Downtown Business Improvement Association (BIA), Newcastle BIA, Newcastle Arena Board, Orono Arena Board, Newcastle Community Hall Board and Newtonville Community Hall Board. Wendy also sits on the Orono Chili Cook-Off Committee, the Orono Park 90th Anniversary Committee and the Orono Santa Claus Parade Committee.

Wendy is also the Founder of the Annual "In the Face of an Angel" golf tournament which raises funds for the Ovarian Cancer Foundation in memory of her mother, Bernice (Quinney) Partner.
