The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising that a road closure will be in place on Cobbledick Road in Newcastle from Service Road to the waterfront trail, including the Samuel Wilmot Nature Area parking lot, beginning August 12 into November.

Beginning the week of August 12, 2024, crews will begin the next phase of construction on the Soper Creek trail to continue the three-metre-wide paved asphalt trail out to Cotton Street. The work will also include the installation of a retaining wall, signage, amenities and restorative landscaping.

Clarington is working to improve accessibility and safety across the community. Starting the week of August 6, crews will begin intersection accessibility improvements and construction of new pedestrian crossovers in Bowmanville, Courtice and Enniskillen.
