Temporary closure to Samuel Wilmot Nature Area parking lot and waterfront trail in Newcastle

The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising that a road closure will be in place on Cobbledick Road in Newcastle from Service Road to the waterfront trail, including the Samuel Wilmot Nature Area parking lot, beginning August 12 into November.

Notice of Construction at Soper Creek Trail

Beginning the week of August 12, 2024, crews will begin the next phase of construction on the Soper Creek trail to continue the three-metre-wide paved asphalt trail out to Cotton Street. Starting the week of August 6, 2024, crews will begin rehabilitation work on the Newcastle Memorial Arena parking lot, located at 103 Caroline Street in Newcastle.
