The whirlpool at Diane Hamre Recreation Complex will be closed for maintenance on September 13, 2024.
The sauna, main pool and tot pool remain open for drop-in times and scheduled activities. The whirlpools at Courtice Community Complex and Alan Strike Aquatic and Squash Centre remain open as regularly scheduled.

Clarington has been awarded a $3.2 million grant from the Government of Ontario’s Skills Development Fund: Capital Stream for the design and construction of a new fire training facility in Bowmanville. The Municipality of Clarington is receiving funding under the Province of Ontario’s Housing-Enabling Water Systems Fund to upgrade and improve the Hetherington Drive Stormwater Outlet in the Bowmanville Creek valley. The province will fund 73 per cent of eligible project costs, up to a maximum of $509,118.

Due to unsafe conditions, the Camp 30 Trail at Lambs Road and Concession Street East in Bowmanville is closed immediately until further notice.
Timing for reopening is pending and will be based on an assessment and evaluation of necessary repairs for a culvert (also known as a tunnel under the road), which allows water to flow below the path.
