Clarington Mayor Adrian Foster has issued the following Kwanzaa statement.

“Happy Kwanzaa! For those celebrating, today marks the beginning of a week-long celebration of Black culture, community and family. Over the next seven days, loved ones will gather to light the Kinara, share stories and honour traditions that reflect resilience and heritage.

From Clarington Council, may Kwanzaa bring plenty of blessings and happiness for the days ahead.”

Clarington Mayor Adrian Foster has issued the following Christmas statement.

“Merry Christmas! I wish everyone who’s celebrating a warm and joyous holiday. 

For my family, and many of our Christian residents, Christmas is a time of tradition, faith and gathering around a glowing tree. Christmas is also celebrated by many others in our community as a chance to gather, share gifts, and enjoy good company.
