Join us on October 31 at 11 a.m. as Clarington Council and the Royal Canadian Legion (RCL) Branch 178 mark the opening of Clarington’s first Veterans’ Crosswalk at the King Street and Temperance Street intersection in Bowmanville. Following the opening ceremony just south of Veterans’ Square (40 Temperance Street), Clarington Council will raise the Poppy Flag, kicking off the RCL Poppy Campaign, supporting local veterans.

Update #2 – October 14, 4:30 p.m.
Clarington Emergency and Fire Services (CEFS) continued monitoring the site at the former Goodyear Lands throughout the afternoon and evening of October 13. Crews determined that the fire began on the roof, which later collapsed into the building. As a safety precaution and to help ensure the fire was fully extinguished, excavators were brought in to remove a portion of damaged wall along the north side of the building.
