Clarington Mayor's statement on escalating U.S. trade tariffs

Clarington Mayor Adrian Foster has issued the following statement.

“We stand strong with our business community against these unjustified and senseless trade tariffs. For decades, the strength of Canada and the United States has depended on shared economic partnerships. Canadians and local businesses deserve better.

In the face of a worsening trade war, I’m working with our staff and the Clarington Board of Trade to convene a roundtable to hear directly from local businesses about how they are being impacted and how we can support them.
