Advisory Committees and Boards

Clarington’s advisory committee meetings are open to the public and may be held in person, online or in a combination of both formats. Please view the committee agenda or reach out to the committee contact listed on the committee page for more information.

The Municipality of Clarington establishes advisory committees and boards to fulfill various mandates and make recommendations to Council. Most committees include members of the public, as well as members of Council. Volunteering to sit on an advisory board or committee is one of the many ways residents can serve their community.

Selection process

Most committees are appointed for the same four-year term as Council. Shortly after the municipal election, we advertise for appointments to boards and committees. Occasionally, vacancies occur during the four-year term.

We encourage anyone interested in sitting on a board or committee to submit an application throughout the year. We will contact you if a vacancy occurs. You are responsible for ensuring the Clerk's Division has received your application. Council will appoint qualified applicants to vacancies based on the application submitted. We will notify all applicants of the final decision by mail.
