This National Forest Week, Clarington's Forestry team is hosting free outdoor pruning demonstrations in parks across the municipality. Join our arborists on Saturday, September 26, to learn how proper tree care supports healthy, thriving trees and a stronger urban forest.

Through live demonstrations and interactive discussion, you'll learn:

Demonstrations are happening across the community

Free demonstrations will take place at four parks across Clarington on Saturday, September 26, 2026: 

10:30 to 11:30 a.m. 

• Rosswell Park, Courtice (141 Rosswell Drive, Courtice) 
• Newcastle Community Park, Newcastle (1780 Rudell Road, Newcastle) 

1 to 2 p.m. 

• Orono Park, Orono (61 Princess Street, Orono) 
• Guildwood Park, Bowmanville (180 Guildwood Drive, Bowmanville)

Know before you go

Everyone is welcome to attend! The demonstrations are free, and no registration is required. Whether you are a tree enthusiast, curious about the trees in your neighbourhood, want tips for your property, or simply looking for a fun and educational family activity, there’s something to learn. 

Parking is available at each location but may be limited, so walking, cycling, and other forms of active transportation are encouraged. Outdoor washrooms or portable toilets will be available on-site, and participants are welcome to bring a lawn chair if they would like to be seated during the demonstration.
