Confirm you’re on the voters’ list
One of the easiest and most important ways to get ready to vote is to confirm that you’re on the voters’ list. Check your information at www.clarington.net/Votes. If you’re not on the list or need to update your address or school support information, the website explains what to do next.
Watch for your Voter Information Letter
Voter Information Letters have been mailed to each eligible elector on the voters’ list, containing detailed instructions and the unique PIN you’ll need to vote.
If you do not receive your Voter Information Letter in the mail, you might not be on the voters’ list. To add your name to the list, visit the Municipal Administrative Centre (40 Temperance Street, Bowmanville), any Clarington Public Library Branch or an Election Assistance Centre. Bring identification that shows your name, address and date of birth.
Find out who’s running
Municipal decisions help shape the services and places you rely on every day. Your vote helps elect the representatives who will make decisions on behalf of the community.
Depending on your address and school support, your ballot will include candidates for Mayor, Regional Councillor, Local Councillor and school board trustee(s).
Election Assistance Centres
If you need help during the voting process or need to add your name to the voters’ list, you can visit an Election Assistance Centre (EAC). These accessible EACs have been set up to provide you with:
- A Voter Information Letter (and PIN) if you didn’t receive one.
- An opportunity to correct your address or school support.
- An opportunity to vote using laptops if you do not have access to the internet or a touch-tone telephone.
- Assistance with voting.
