Municipal decisions help shape the places you use every day — they have a visible impact where you walk, play, drive, gather, and grow. That’s why it’s important that you’re ready to have your say this fall during the Municipal Election!
Here’s how you can get ready to vote and help shape Clarington’s future:
- Confirm that you are on the voters’ list.
- Get added if you are not.
- Update your information as needed.
- Verify or change your school support designation.
Please note: You can update your voter information online until August 12. Beginning September 1, any changes will need to be made in person at the Municipal Administrative Centre or an Election Assistance Centre.
Taking a few minutes to check your information today will help ensure you’re ready when voting begins this fall.

Clarington’s 2026 Municipal Election will take place on Monday, October 26. This election, voting in Clarington will take place electronically — you can vote anywhere and anytime during the voting period using a computer, tablet or telephone.
- Now until October 26: Check that you’re on the voters’ list
- May 1 to August 21: Nomination Period (Become a candidate!)
- May 1 to October 23: Third-Party Advertiser Registration
- October 20 to 26: Voting Period
- October 26: Election Day (Watch for the unofficial results after 8:05 p.m.)
