Clarington appoints new Fire Chief

The Municipality of Clarington is pleased to announce the appointment of Bradley Lamport as Clarington’s new Fire Chief and Director of Emergency and Fire Services, effective March 30.

“Clarington Council is pleased to congratulate Brad as he steps into the role of Fire Chief. His proven leadership will help ensure our growing community continues to receive outstanding fire protection and emergency response services,” said Clarington Mayor Adrian Foster.

Brad Lamport

Chief Lamport joined the Clarington Emergency and Fire Services as Deputy Chief in February 2024. Prior to joining Clarington, he started his career as a Volunteer Firefighter in Georgina, then spent 18 years serving with the Markham Fire Department, progressing through leadership positions. He lives on a small farm in Kawartha Lakes with his wife and is the proud father of three boys—two of whom are already following in their father’s footsteps as Firefighters in Richmond Hill and Markham.

“I am deeply honoured and genuinely excited to step into the role of Fire Chief for the Municipality of Clarington. Clarington Emergency and Fire Services has a proud legacy of outstanding service, and I look forward to working alongside the dedicated personnel of this Department,” said incoming Chief Lamport. “Together, as our community continues to grow, I am eager to learn, collaborate, and ensure we deliver exceptional service while embracing the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.”

The Municipality of Clarington would like to acknowledge Mariano Perini for his leadership as Interim Fire Chief since the retirement of Chief David Speed this past fall. While carrying dual responsibilities, Mariano provided steady and effective leadership in support of both Public Works and Fire Services, ensuring continuity of operations and organizational stability during the transition period.
