Clarington Mayor issues statement of condolence on the loss of Gord Lowery

Clarington Mayor Adrian Foster has issued the following statement on the death of Gordon (Gord) Lowery.

“Clarington, especially the Village of Orono, has suffered a heartbreaking loss with the passing of Gord Lowery, an exceptional citizen whose legacy shaped amateur athletics in Orono.  

Gord was a legend in our hockey arenas and on our soccer fields. He was a community builder in the village, with long-standing involvement with the local sports leagues. He truly cared about putting the needs of others above his own and was Clarington’s Senior of the Year in 2013. Gord was a champion, a friend, and an inspiration to many in our community.

On behalf of Council and the Municipality of Clarington, I want to extend my sincere condolences to his family, friends and all those grieving his loss.”
