Clarington Mayor's statement on AccessAbility Week
Clarington Mayor Adrian Foster has issued the following statement.
“National AccessAbility Week celebrates the exceptional influence of people of all abilities in our community and across Canada, and it’s an opportunity to recognize the ongoing work to improve accessibility here in Clarington. Last weekend, Clarington celebrated, in partnership with Autism Home Base and Xenia Concerts, by hosting our first Relaxed Concert, with families and friends in attendance.
We have made incredible progress towards inclusion and building a community where everyone can participate and feel valued. This is a journey without end, and our work is not yet done. From introducing accessible fitness equipment to installing mobile device charging stations across our municipality, we’ll always be considering what’s next in our efforts to remove barriers. That’s a testament to how far we’ve come and how far we’ll go to build a more inclusive future for everyone.”
