Clarington Mayor's statement on hometown soccer hero Allysha Chapman

Clarington Mayor Adrian Foster has issued the following statement.

“For years, Clarington sports fans have cheered on hometown soccer hero Allysha Chapman. It’s been a joy to watch the incredible Courtice defender win Olympic medals and tear up the field in the FIFA Women’s World Cup. After representing Canada in 100 games, Allysha is retiring from international soccer, and we couldn’t be prouder of her legacy.

In our town, kids fall in love with the game watching Allysha play. She inspired them to bring that legendary confidence, tenacity, and teamwork beyond the field and into our community, making Clarington an even better place to live and play. Thank you, Allysha, for everything, and we wish you all the best in the future.”
