Clarington opens applications for 2026 Diversity Leadership Bursary supporting student leaders
Clarington is proud to announce that applications are now open for the third annual Diversity Leadership Bursary, offering two graduating Clarington high school students the opportunity to receive a $1,250 bursary to support their educational and career aspirations.
The Diversity Leadership Bursary recognizes students who demonstrate a strong commitment to advancing diversity, inclusion, anti-racism, and accessibility within the community. Through leadership, advocacy, and meaningful action, these students help foster a more inclusive, equitable, and welcoming Clarington for everyone.
“Investing in our youth is an investment in the future of our community,” said Clarington Mayor Adrian Foster. “The Diversity Leadership Bursary celebrates students who are leading with compassion, courage, and a commitment to inclusion. By supporting these young leaders, we are reinforcing Clarington’s promise to be a community where diversity is valued, barriers are removed, and everyone has the opportunity to thrive."
Applications are open from April 17 to May 15, 2026. Eligible students can learn more about application requirements and apply online at www.clarington.net/DiversityBursary.
The Diversity Leadership Bursary is supported by Clarington’s Diversity Advisory Committee and aligns with the Municipality’s 2024–27 Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA) Strategy. The Advisory Committee is composed of local residents who provide advice to Council and Municipal staff on matters related to diversity and inclusion.
