Growth Management Study: Public Information Centre on June 18
You’re Invited! The Municipality of Clarington is holding a virtual Public Information Centre (PIC) on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. for members of the public to learn more about the Growth Management Study.
To attend, please register in advance at www.clarington.net/GMS-PIC.
The PIC will consist of a presentation followed by an opportunity to ask questions of the project team. Members of the public are invited to meet the team, review the background materials and discuss topics related to Clarington’s future growth.
Project Background
Clarington has experienced notable growth over the last two decades. This trend is expected to continue, with the population projected to reach approximately 221,000 residents and employment rising to 70,300 jobs by 2051.
These projections are based on growth targets established by ‘Envision Durham’, the Durham Regional Official Plan. The GMS will build on the work done through Envision Durham to help ensure Clarington grows responsibly.
The Clarington GMS will also:
- Look at how our population, housing, and jobs are expected to grow by 2056.
- Review local and regional trends and examine how much land is needed for homes and businesses.
- Provide policy recommendations to help guide Clarington’s Official Plan Review and support thoughtful, well-planned growth that also aligns with Provincial direction.
