Happy Canada Day, Clarington - Statement from Mayor Adrian Foster

Clarington Mayor Adrian Foster has issued the following statement.

“Have a happy, unforgettable Canada Day! Each year, our community comes together to celebrate the Canadian spirit, strength and pride in a way that unites us – whether you’re joining the fun at our community event or relaxing at home with family, friends, and neighbours. We come together not because we share a common background, but because we share a common vision of how great this nation is.  

Canada Day is a time to honour the people, cultures and communities that make this country so vibrant. As we celebrate, let’s acknowledge the land we are on, honour all the Indigenous communities who came before us, and continue our shared commitment to reconciliation, inclusion and belonging.

Days like this remind us how fortunate we are to live in a welcoming community, in an exceptional country. From all of us on Clarington Council, have a safe, happy and awesome Canada Day!”
