Help shape the future of Clarington’s maps

Clarington is developing a GIS and GIS Data Strategy to guide how we use maps, data, and technology to support services, planning, and decision-making.

As part of this work, we’re asking residents to share their feedback to help shape what comes next.

What is GIS?

You might not think about it, but you use GIS more often than you realize.

GIS (Geographic Information Systems) is the technology that powers many of the maps and tools you use to explore your community, find information, and access services.

For example, if you’ve ever:

  • Checked where the snowplow is
  • Looked up a park or sports field
  • Dropped a pin when submitting a service request

— you’ve already used GIS.
