Notice of Decision under the Ontario Heritage Act: 2656 Concession Road 4, Darlington
In The Matter of the Ontario Heritage Act R.S.O. 1990, Chapter O.18 and Municipality of Clarington, Province Of Ontario 2656 Concession Road 4, Darlington
Applicant: The Municipality of Clarington
Take Notice that the Council of the Municipality of Clarington on January 26, 2026, considered an application under Section 34(1)2 of the Ontario Heritage Act to demolish or remove, or permit the demolition or removal of a building and/or structure on a Property designated under Part IV, Section 29 of the Ontario Heritage Act for the Property municipally known as 2656 Concession Road 4, Darlington. The Decision of Council of the Municipality of Clarington, among other matters, regarding the application under the Ontario Heritage Act is as follows:
- That Council supports the Heritage Permit Application (File No. HPA2025-008), to permit the demolition and removal of the one-storey brick rear wing and one-storey wooden outbuilding of the existing farmhouse dwelling at 2656 Concession Road 4, be approved in accordance with Section 34 of the Ontario Heritage Act and substantially in accordance with:
- The Heritage Impact Assessment prepared by Archaeological Resources Inc, Revised, dated December 10, 2025; and
- The Heritage Demolition Advisory Report, prepared by MVW Construction & Engineering Inc., dated November 17, 2025.
Appeal to the Ontario Land Tribunal
Only the owner of the subject property of the application under Section 34 of the Ontario Heritage Act may appeal the decision of Council of the Municipality of Clarington to the Ontario Land Tribunal under Part IV, Section 34.1 of the Ontario Heritage Act. The appeal may only be made where Council has consented to an application to demolish or remove a building and/or structure on a property with certain terms or conditions, or refuses the application to demolish or remove the building and/or structure on a property. As the Municipality of Clarington is the owner of the property, appeal instructions are not required and will not be provided in this notice.
