Playground upgrade coming to Lord Elgin Park in Bowmanville

Clarington is making exciting improvements to Lord Elgin Park in Bowmanville with improved accessibility and a new playground designed for all ages.

The upcoming upgrade will add a larger play area with new play structures suitable for all ages, swings—including an accessible swing—benches, and newly paved pathways. A ramp and wood fibre safety surfacing will further enhance accessibility, ensuring children of all abilities can enjoy the space together.

Construction will begin the week of Monday, August 18, 2025, with the playground expected to reopen this fall. During construction, parts of the park may be temporarily closed to the public. We appreciate your patience as we work to bring this exciting new play area to life.
