Public Meeting Notice: two proposed developments in Courtice

Two development proposals* will be coming to the Planning and Development Committee on Monday, January 19, 2026, beginning at 6:30 p.m. – and we want to hear from you!

*Please note this is not an approved project – it is the start of the planning process. The Municipality of Clarington is required to process every development application it receives. Our professional staff rigorously evaluates the merits and suitability of each application, including those like yours.

Proposed development at 2149 Courtice Road in Courtice

Minto Communities Inc. has submitted applications for a Zoning By-law Amendment and Draft Plan of Subdivision at 2149 Courtice Road in Courtice. The proposal conforms to Clarington’s Official Plan requirements for this area and seeks to facilitate the development of a maximum of

  • 340 residential units, consisting of:
  • 269 single-detached homes
  • 71 street townhouses
  • Three medium-density regional corridor blocks
  • A high-density residential block
  • A neighbourhood park, stormwater management block and open space blocks

The total site area is 39.85 hectares (98.47 acres) in size.

Proposed development at 113 Down Road in Courtice

Weston Consulting has submitted applications on behalf of 1725596 Ontario Ltd. for a Zoning By-law Amendment and Draft Plan of Subdivision at 113 Down Road in Courtice.

The proposal seeks to develop approximately 2,500 low and medium-density residential units in the form of semi-detached dwellings, townhouses, stacked townhouses and apartment buildings, as well as mixed-use blocks.

The total site area is 52 hectares (128 acres).

Once registered, staff will provide further instructions. If you are attending in person, you do not need to pre-register as a delegate to speak at the meeting.
