Rural road resurfacing and drainage improvement work to begin next week on Clarington’s roads

From May to September 2026, crews will begin construction to improve the surface of several roads in Clarington. The work includes drainage improvements, asphalt reclamation, grading, resurfacing and slurry seal. Motorists may experience temporary lane closures, short-term road closures and delays on the affected roads.

Please note timelines are approximate and will vary depending on weather and other factors. Crews will ensure waste collection and mail delivery won’t be interrupted. 

Surface improvement work will affect the following roads: 

• Concession Road 1 - Elliott Road to East Townline Road (1650m) 
• East Townline Road - Concession Road 1 to Highway 401 (780m) 
• East Townline Road - Highway 401 to Durham Regional Highway 2 (790m) 
• Maple Grove Road - Bloor Street to Baseline Road (1950m) 
• Hancock Road - Nash Road to 200m south (200m) 
• Rundle Road - Bloor Street to Durham Regional Highway 2 (900m) 
• Concession Road 4 - Old Scugog Road to Bowmanville Avenue (340m) 
• Moffat Road - Concession Road 3 to Concession Road 4 (2020m) 
• Mosport Road - Concession Road 8 to 1600m north of Concession Road 8 (1600m) 
• Best Road - Taunton Road to Concession Road 7 (2170m)  
• Carscadden Road - Ganaraska Road to Concession Road 8 (1880m) 
• Station Street - Highway 35 to Concession Road 5 (280m) 
• Kendal Church Street - Ganaraska Road to Old Mill St (310m) 

In addition to the surface improvement work above, the following rural roads will receive a slurry seal treatment to improve the surface and extend the lifespan of the road: 

• Brownsville Court - Brownsville Road to the east end (160m) 
• Brownsville Road - Durham Regional Highway 2 to the south end turnaround (670m) 
• Brownsville Road - Durham Regional Highway 2 to the north end (1220m) 
• Browview Road - Durham Regional Highway 2 to the east end (300m)  
• Carscadden Road - Concession Road 8 to the north end (1000m) 
• Concession Road 10 - Highway 35 to 1034m west of Highway 35 (1000m) 
• Crego Road - Osborne Road to Megawatt Drive (890m) 
• Gilmore Road - Concession Road 5 to Concession Road 6 (2010m) 
• Grasshopper Park Road - Nelson Lane to the north limit of Haydon (590m) 
• Maynard Road - Concession Road 8 to the north end (660m) 
• Middle Road - Concession Road 6 to Concession Road 7 (2070m) 
• Old Mill St - Kendal Church Street to the west end (130m) 
• Solina Road - 150m north of Dorset Street to Concession Road 7 (990m) 
• Thertell Road - Langstaff Road to Cold Springs Camp Road (1810m)
