Service Disruption: Impact of Canada Post labour disruption on municipal services

The Municipality of Clarington would like to notify residents that all incoming and outgoing mail will be affected by the labour disruption at Canada Post. The Municipality is not able to send large distribution mailings or receive incoming mail. This includes:
Property Tax
- If you recently purchased a property within Clarington please visit Property Taxes and Assessments or contact Taxation Services at 905-623-3379 ext. 2650.
- Sign up to have your tax bill sent directly to your email account at www.clarington.net/eBilling. Once you sign up, you will no longer receive a paper copy of your bill by mail.
- Tax arrears notices will be delayed. The last property tax instalment was due on September 18, 2025. If you are unsure if you have an outstanding balance, please contact Taxation Services at 905-623-3379 ext. 2650. Penalty and/or interest charges will not be removed.
Public Meeting Notices
- Residents within 120 metres of a proposed development will receive hand-delivered or couriered notices of upcoming Statutory Public Meetings, with 18 days’ notice of the set meeting date. Those who reside outside of Clarington but own property within the defined area will have their notices couriered.

Water and sewer bills
- Visit the MyDurhamWater portal to access and pay bills online. Water and sanitary sewer bills can also be paid at a financial institution; or by cheque (payable to The Regional Municipality of Durham) at Clarington’s Municipal Administrative Centre at 40 Temperance Street in Bowmanville.
