We know how much you love your parks, Clarington! And this year, there’s plenty to look forward to in your neighbourhood, with upgrades planned across the community. From refreshed playgrounds and splash pads to improved sports fields, these projects are designed to create fun, inclusive spaces for residents of all ages to enjoy.
Avondale Park, 100 Avondale Drive, Courtice
- Splash pad redevelopment

Barlow Court Parkette, 38 Barlow Court, Bowmanville
- New playground
- Construction begins in summer 2026
Cecil B. Found Park, 169 George Reynolds Drive, Courtice
- New playground
- Construction begins in summer 2026
Clarington Fields, 2375 Baseline Road West, Bowmanville
- Improvements to two ball diamonds, including backstops, pitching mounds, and warning track, as well as spectator area improvements.
- Construction begins in fall 2026.
Glanville Parkette, 15 Glanville Crescent, Bowmanville
- New playground
- Construction begins in summer 2026
Guildwood Park, 180 Guildwood Drive, Bowmanville
- Splash pad redevelopment
- New off-leash dog area

Longworth Park, 350 Longworth Avenue, Bowmanville
- New playground with junior/senior play structure and swings
- Engineered wood fibre safety surface and accessible ramp
- Upgrades to the ball diamond
- Trail improvements

Optimist Park, 101 Waverley Rd, Bowmanville
- Enhancements to sports fields and basketball court
- Construction begins in fall 2026
Pearce Farm Park, 260 Shipway Avenue, Newcastle
- New playground and splash pad
- Basketball court

West Side Park, 34 West Side Drive, Bowmanville
- Splash pad redevelopment
- Construction begins in Summer 2026.
Municipal park on former Bowmanville Zoo lands, King Street East and Mearns Avenue, Bowmanville
- 700 metres of new trails on the west side of the Soper Creek system, including a main four-metre-wide asphalt trail and a series of secondary crushed limestone walking trails.
- Trail construction spring 2026
Belmont Park, 155 Belmont Drive, Newcastle
- A new neighbourhood park featuring:
- A multi-skills court for basketball and ball hockey
- Playground
- Walking paths
- Shade structure
- Seating and open space
- Construction begins in late summer 2026
