Multiple roads to close in downtown Bowmanville for Moonlight Magic
The following roads will close on December 5, 2025, from 4 to 10 p.m.
Road Closure: Prospect Street bridge closed until further noticePlease be advised that Prospect Street, between Concession Street West and O’Dell Street in Bowmanville, is closed until further notice due to damage to the bridge deck.
There is no access at the bridge.
Construction Notice: Permanent speed bumps to be installed on Simpson Avenue in BowmanvilleAs part of Clarington’s ongoing commitment to community safety, permanent speed bumps will be installed on Simpson Avenue in Bowmanville on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, in the following locations:
- North of Prince Street
- South of Jane Street
- North of Southway Drive
Work is expected to be completed within the day, and access to all fronting properties will be maintained. Traffic control measures will be in place during construction, and minor delays may occur.
Construction notice: 2025 sidewalk repair projectWork is underway to repair cracked, uneven and damaged sidewalks and curbs across Clarington as part of our annual sidewalk maintenance program. The work is expected to be completed by October 2025.

George Street West and East Road Reconstruction and Watermain ReplacementBeginning the week of June 23, 2025, reconstruction will begin on George Street West (from North Street to Manvers Road) and George Street East (from Mill Street North to Beaver Street North) in Newcastle. The work is expected to take approximately 20 weeks to complete.
