The event brought enthusiastic baseball fans, young athletes, and families together for an afternoon of baseball-themed fun. With the support of Jays Care Foundation and the Clarington Baseball Association, the community enjoyed skills and drills stations, a Rep Orioles game, inflatables, lawn games, face painting and more!

Youth aged 7 to 14 also had the opportunity to take part in Major League Baseball’s Pitch, Hit & Run, a skills-based competition that gives young athletes the opportunity to showcase their baseball and softball skills. Congratulations to the following Clarington athletes who will advance to the Team Championship round at the Rogers Centre later this year: Broderick B. (7U/8U), Noah H. (9U/10U), Cooper W. (11U/12U), and Parker S. (13U/14U).

“A dream baseball diamond like this is sure to inspire the next generation of athletes while strengthening our community connections,” said Clarington Mayor Adrian Foster. “The Soper Creek Park baseball diamond is now a safer, more welcoming space where young athletes can build skills, confidence and lifelong memories, thanks to the support of Jays Care Foundation’s granting program, Field Of Dreams made possible by TD. Who knows, a future MLB All-Star may hit their first home run right here.”

Sunday's celebration marked the completion of improvements made possible through Jays Care Foundation’s granting program, Field Of Dreams made possible by TD. Nearly $110,000 in grant funding supported upgrades to the hardball diamond, including new players’ benches, a new backstop, improved surface grading and covered dugouts that provide shade and shelter from the rain. These enhancements improve safety, comfort and the overall playing experience for players of all ages.

As Clarington continues to invest in parks and outdoor spaces, projects like this help ensure more residents have access to safe, welcoming places to play close to home.
