Together, We Are Clarington: A Community Conversation
Stronger together: building an informed and inclusive community
The Municipality of Clarington, Region of Durham, Victim Services of Durham Region, and Clarington Library, Museums and Archives invite residents to join an evening of learning, conversation, and community connection on Wednesday, September 23.
This free community event will bring people together to explore how we can build and sustain a stronger, more informed, and more inclusive Clarington. Through presentations, discussion, and opportunities to connect with others, attendees will gain practical tools for engaging in respectful conversations, navigating differing perspectives and strengthening community connections, such as:
- Learn about the difference between hate incidents and hate crimes
- Learn about the Community-Based Hate Reporting Program and supports and resources available locally
- Explore how to recognize and prevent the spread of disinformation, navigate differing perspectives and help build a more informed and connected community
- Learn about Community Safety and Well-Being initiatives
- Connect with local community organizations, cultural and faith groups, and service providers that foster belonging, connection and community resilience

- Place: Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex (Full Hall), 2440 Durham Highway 2, Bowmanville 📍
- Free to attend; no registration required. Light refreshments will be provided. ⭐️

We encourage residents of all ages, backgrounds, and experiences to attend, learn from one another, ask questions, share perspectives, and help strengthen the connections that create a welcoming community for everyone.
