Register in person

Register in person at one of the following facilities during our customer service hours:

The Community Services Department must receive all requests for cancellations and refunds in writing using the appropriate form. Requests for specialty classes (Aquatic Leadership, Summer Session Aquatics Instruction (Monday to Friday), First Aid, CPR, High Five-Principles of Healthy Child Development and Day Camps) and workshops must be received by the Community Services Department at least three business days before the first class. Programs with a value of $11.30 or less (after taxes) are considered non-refundable.

All approved cancellation and refund requests received before the second class will be provided, with the exception of specialty classes. The refund amount will be pro-rated, and a refund administration fee of $10 + HST will apply.

Medical refund requests will be assessed at any point during the session and must be accompanied by a doctor’s note. The refund amount will be pro-rated to the date we receive all completed paperwork.

Cancel your membership or withdraw from a registered program.

Our recreation programs have predetermined class maximums based on the safety of participants, facility space and staffing levels. The quality of our programs, safety and enjoyment for participants is of utmost importance. Once a program reaches capacity, we encourage you to add your participant to the waitlist as it helps us determine future programming needs. If added to the waitlist and a spot becomes available, you will be contacted by phone or email to register by the provided deadline. Please ensure your contact information, including phone number and email address, are up to date on your BeActive account. Registration from a reserved waitlist spot must be completed in person at one of our recreation facilities and cannot be completed online or over the phone.

We reserve the right to cancel any class or program that does not achieve minimum registration requirements. When possible, we will replace cancelled classes or programs with classes or programs that have a waiting list. If the Community Services Department is responsible for the cancellation, we will issue a full refund to all registrants. Only classes cancelled by the Community Services Department will be rescheduled when possible.

Occasionally, we have to cancel individual classes due to special events or unforeseen circumstances. If you are registered for a program, we will contact you about any cancellations or program changes. For drop-in programs, check our Service Disruptions page or the drop-in activity schedule

We strive to provide affordable recreation programs for our residents. To make sure everyone has access to recreation, we offer financial assistance programs for select programs and services based on eligibility criteria.

Non-Clarington residents must pay an additional 10 per cent non-resident fee on all programs, memberships and facility rentals. Program registration for non-residents occurs one week after resident registration dates.

Age requirements must be met to complete registration.

  • Recreation Programs for children five years and under: Participants must be the required age by the program start date.
  • Recreation Programs for children six years and older: Participants must be the required age by the program end date.
  • Adult Recreation Programs: Participants must be the required age by the program start date.
  • Day Camps for children four to six years: Participants must be the required age by the program start date.
  • Day Camps for children seven years and older: Participants must be the required age by the end of the calendar year (December 31 of the current year).

Programming is developed with the participant’s development and safety in mind. If a participant does not meet the age requirement, but you want them to be considered for an age exemption, contact communityservices@clarington.net or 905-623-3379. Registration for the participant with an age exemption must be done in person at one of our recreation facilities and cannot be completed online or over the phone. Age exemptions must be received a minimum of one week before registration opens. If approved, age exemption registrations are dependent on spots still being available at the time of registration.

All pricing for Community Services programs and services excludes applicable taxes. Staff will calculate the required tax amount at the point of sale.
