Residents donate generously to Clarington Animal Shelter

The Clarington Animal Shelter wants to thank all the residents who supported the animals in the shelter this holiday season. The generous community donations of cash, pet food, kitty litter, soft blankets, and pet toys were overwhelming and brought joy to all the animals in the shelter.

The donations help provide food, care and shelter for stray, injured and lost animals, assist with the costs of fostering, and help reunite animals with their families.

Durham Regional Council approves 2023 water and sanitary sewer user rates

Whitby, Ontario – Durham Regional Council has approved the 2023 water supply and sanitary sewer user rates, with a combined increase of 4.3 per cent, an estimated annual increase of $45.92 for the average residential customer.

In addition to ongoing maintenance and operation of the water supply and sanitary sewerage systems, Durham Region has several major projects planned for 2023 including:

• Planning, detailed design and construction of 24.1 kilometres of watermain and sanitary sewer projects.

Convenient curbside natural Christmas tree collection in January

Whitby, Ontario – When the holidays are over, Durham Region will provide its annual curbside collection of natural Christmas trees. Natural Christmas trees will be composted with leaf and yard waste.When and where:
