Coyotes don’t generally pose a danger to people, but they can be a danger to pets. But while they are usually harmless, they are still wild animals and should be treated with caution. Never feed or approach a coyote.
What should you do if you encounter a coyote outside?
- Do not run away or turn your back on the animal.
- Make yourself as big and loud as possible by waving your hands and yelling while backing away slowly. That will scare off most coyotes.

As we head into the holidays, our hours of operation will be adjusted. We wish all residents of Clarington very happy holidays with their friends and family, filled with warmth, joy, and togetherness.
Municipal Administrative Centre (Town Hall)Clarington's Municipal Administrative Centre (Town Hall) will be closed from Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at 12 p.m. to Wednesday, January 1, 2024.

Enbridge Gas Assists Clarington Emergency and Fire Services in Supporting Firefighter Training

Clarington, Ontario – Enbridge Gas Inc. (Enbridge Gas) is helping Clarington Emergency and Fire Services (CEFS) purchase firefighting training materials through Safe Community Project Assist—a program with the Fire Marshal’s Public Fire Safety Council (FMPFSC) that supplements existing training for Ontario volunteer and composite fire departments in the communities where Enbridge Gas operates.
