Building bulletins

Climate Design Zones

This Building Bulletin is intended to inform designers, builders, and permit applicants that the Municipality of Clarington has obtained updated climate‑specific design data prepared by Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC). This data will take effect on July 1, 2026, and is to be used when designing
buildings within Clarington.

Ontario has a new 2024 Building Code, which comes into effect January 1, 2025.

This bulletin is intended to inform and clarify how the Municipality of Clarington’s building division will be applying the transition between the current 2012 OBC and the 2024 OBC.
