Clarington, Ontario – Clarington’s Chief Administrative Officer, Mary-Anne Dempster, has issued the following statement:

“Clarington staff have prepared a report outlining proposed changes to the way our emergency and fire services are delivered in the community. The recommendations, which will be considered by Council on June 19, will help to ensure we continue to provide our services in an efficient way and meet the high standard of safety our residents expect and deserve.

Following a review of emergency response, Clarington Emergency and Fire Services recommending a multi-year approach to prepare for future growth.

Staff in the Emergency and Fire Services Department have drafted a recommendation report for Council consideration at the June 19, 2023, Joint Committee Meeting.

Clarington, Ontario – In an ongoing commitment to promoting equity, inclusivity, and social justice, the Municipality of Clarington has launched a survey to engage with individuals who have experienced or witnessed racism and discrimination in the community. The findings from the survey will form the foundation of an evidence-based Anti-Racism and Discrimination strategy.

Clarington, Ontario – Clarington firefighters rescued two dogs, an alert Pug and an unconscious Chocolate Labrador Retriever, from a Courtice house fire on Saturday, May 27.

Throughout the month of June, Clarington comes together as a community to honour, celebrate, and support our 2SLGBTQIA+ residents, their contributions, and the progress we have made toward equality and inclusivity.

Pride Month is a time to celebrate our 2SLGBTQIA+ community and reflect on the challenges they have triumphed over and those that persist.

Clarington, Ontario – The Municipality of Clarington is proud to announce the launch of a community survey during AccessAbility Week, aimed at gathering valuable feedback to support the development of our next Multi-Year Accessibility Plan (MYAP), which will guide accessibility efforts over the next five years.

“Accessibility is more than just parking spaces and doorways.

Clarington residents will soon see new playground equipment at the following parks:

• Burketon Park
• Harvey Jackson Park
• Haydon Hall Parkette
• Ina Brown Parkette
• Peters Pike Parkette

Crews will work throughout May and June to remove the existing equipment that has reached its end of life and install new play structures. New benches and waste receptacles will also be added, along with trail improvements.
