Council Highlights from the April 4, 2022 MeetingBreathing air into Clarington: Municipality partners with LEAF on a backyard tree planting program
Clarington is partnering with Local Enhancement and Appreciation of Forests (LEAF) and the Region of Durham on a one-year backyard tree planting pilot project to assist residents in planting more trees and shrubs on their properties. Both Clarington and the Region of Durham will provide $15,000 each for this pilot project.

Council Highlights from the March 14, 2022 MeetingProgress report card: Clarington releases an update on its Corporate Climate Action Plan
The Municipality has released its first report on progress and work done to date to accomplish the goals set out in the Clarington Corporate Climate Action Plan (CCCAP), approved by Council in March 2021. The Action Plan contains 115 specific actions that the Municipality can take to adapt corporate assets, operations, and services to limit the negative impacts of climate change and reduce its greenhouse gas.

Council Highlights from the January 24, 2022 MeetingBatter up: get ready, cricket is coming to Clarington
Staff in Public Works have been directed by Council to install a cricket pitch overlay on the municipal soccer field located at Rickard Neighbourhood Park in Newcastle. Staff are also investigating a partnership with a local Courtice school to create a cricket pitch overlay on one of the existing sports fields.
