Canada Day in Clarington
Every year, Clarington celebrates Canada Day with a large community event on July 1. This year’s celebration will take place on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, from 5 to 10 p.m. at Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex.
What’s happening
Enjoy an exciting lineup of entertainment and activities, including:
- Live music and entertainment featuring the Big Smoke Brass Band, Aria Zenua, and The Charles Street Band
- A high‑energy fire show by Guinness World Record holder Brant the Fire Guy
- Stilt walkers and glow performers
- Kids’ Stage with storytime, music, sing-along and dancing with The Teeny Tinys
- Inflatables, a Bubble Party, LEGO and hula hoop stations, and games
- Soccer-inspired activities, crafts, stories and skills and drills stations
- Soccer Storytelling and Trivia, presented by the Clarington Library, Museums & Archives
- Face painting and henna art
- An artisan pop‑up market
- A variety of food and ice cream vendors
Plus, don’t miss free cookies and glow sticks (while supplies last), and much more happening throughout the night.
The evening wraps up with a fireworks display at 10 p.m. (weather permitting) — the perfect way to celebrate Canada Day with friends, family and neighbours.
