Clarington is building a new park in Newtonville, and we’d like to hear from you!
Rose Park, located at 79 Rose Crescent, will enhance the neighbourhood's recreational, leisure and amenity offerings. The parkette will include a junior and senior playground, swings, a shade structure, park pathways, seating, and open green space. The new park is expected to open to the public in fall 2024.

Parks, Recreation and Culture Master Plan moves forward
Council received a progress update on the Municipality’s proposed Parks, Recreation and Culture Master Plan.
Clarington engaged with residents to ask them about their priorities for parks, recreation and culture. Residents shared their opinions and recommendations online, at public open houses and in stakeholder focus groups. 3,203 surveys were submitted, representing over 8,000 people across all age groups.

The Municipality of Clarington advises residents of a road closure at Prestonvale Road and Baseline Road.
Where: Prestonvale Road from Southfield Avenue to Baseline Road and Baseline Road from Trulls Road to Prestonvale Road.
When: Monday, March 25, until Wednesday, March 27 at 5 p.m.
Why: Rail crossing maintenance.
Please see the map below and use local alternative roads. Emergency access will not be available at the rail crossing.

Update: The pool at Diane Hamre Recreation Complex has now reopened, and all scheduled and drop-in programming has resumed.
Effective immediately, the Diane Hamre Recreation Complex pool is closed until further notice due to an unexpected maintenance issue.
All scheduled drop-in swimming is cancelled for the evening.
We will provide updates on when our regular programming will resume as soon as we are able to.
