Road resurfacing and drainage improvement work to begin next week on Clarington’s rural roads

From May to September 2024, crews will begin construction to improve the surface of several rural roads in Clarington. The work includes drainage improvements, asphalt reclamation, grading and resurfacing. Motorists may experience temporary lane closures, short-term road closures and delays on the affected roads.

Surface improvement work will affect the following roads:

• Concession Road 5, from 100 metres east of Station Road to 4340 Concession Road 5 (6,900 metres)
• Concession Road 6, from Newtonville Road to Shiloh Road (1,550 metres)
• Cooney Road, from Ganaraska Road to Concession Road 8 (1,960 metres)
• Jewel Road, from Concession Road 6 to the south end (1,030 metres)
• Jewel Road, from Concession Road 6 to Ganaraska Road (2,160 metres)
• Langmaid Road, from Concession Road 7 to RR 3 (1,970 metres)
• Middle Road, from Concession Road 7 to Concession Road 8 (1,980 metres)
• Middle Road, from Concession Road 8 to RR 20 (2,060 metres)
• Old Scugog Road, from Salter Court to Concession Road 9 (1,430 metres)
• Ovens Road, from Durham Highway 2 to south end turnaround (630 metres)
• Vickers Road, from Concession Road 5 to Concession Road 6 (2,270 metres)
• Reid Road, from Durham Highway 2 to 1 kilometre north (1,000 metres)
• Leask Road, from Concession Road 6 to north end (150 metres)
• Tamblyn Road, from Highway 35/115 to 454 metres north (450 metres)

In addition to the surface improvement work above, the following rural roads will receive a slurry seal treatment to improve the surface and extend the lifespan of the road:

• Concession Road 1, from Morgans Road to Newtonville Road (3,345 metres)
• Solina Road, from Nash Road to 700 metres north (700 metres)
• Concession Road 5, from Pollard Road to Squair Road (840 metres)
• Cochrane Road, from Concession 10 to 475 metres north (475 metres)
• Kurve Inn Road, from Highway 2 to the end (520 metres)
• Kurve Inn Road, from Kurve Inn Road to Lovekin Road (160 metres)
• Concession Road 8, from Woodley Road to Middle Road (830 metres)
• Maple Grove Road, from Baseline Road to the end (790 metres)
• Hillen Road, from Concession Road 6 to the end (345 metres)
• Aked Road, from Concession Road 8 to the end (850 metres)
• Bethesda Road, from Taunton Road to 1,000 metres north (1,000 metres)
• Concession Road 4, from Golf Course Road to Morgans Road (1,775 metres)
• Morgans Road, from Concession Road 4 to Cowanville Road (1,025 metres)
• Concession Road 9, from Wotten Road to Old Scugog Road (4,385 metres)
• Enfield Road, from Concession Road 9 to Concession Road 10 (2,205 metres)
