Statement from Mayor Adrian Foster on the Lunar New Year

Clarington, Ontario – Clarington Mayor Adrian Foster has issued the following statement for the Lunar New Year.

“On behalf of Clarington Council, I want to wish a happy Lunar New Year to all those who are celebrating in our community.

Today, we join East and Southeast Asian communities around the world in celebrating the Lunar New Year. This is the Year of the Dragon, a symbol of nobility, power, honour, and success. Lunar New Year is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about and celebrate the diverse traditions that enrich our community.

To those observing the Lunar New Year, I hope you enjoy this as a time for family and friends to reunite and celebrate. May the Year of the Dragon bring happiness, health, and prosperity to us all.”
