    Clarington, Ontario – The Municipality of Clarington is pleased to announce a new payment option for parking in Downtown Bowmanville, allowing visitors to pay with their smartphones. This feature will be in addition to the continued ability to pay by coin and available both on-street and in Municipal parking lots.

  • Clarington Mayor praises expansion of new nuclear project at Darlington OPG

    Clarington, Ontario  Clarington Mayor Adrian Foster has issued the following statement: 

    We are delighted to hear the Government of Ontario and Ontario Power Generation(OPG) announce plans to build three additional small modular reactors (SMR) at the Darlington Nuclear Generating Station.

    Work has been underway for years to build Canada’s first SMR at Darlington.

  • Clarington celebrates Lifeguarding at Any Age grant

    Clarington, Ontario – The Municipality of Clarington is excited to launch the "Lifeguarding at any Age" program with the support of the 2023-24 Seniors Community Grant program from the Ministry of Seniors and Accessibility. Clarington welcomed the Honourable Raymond Cho, Minister of Seniors and Accessibility, and Member of Provincial Parliament for Durham Todd McCarthy on Wednesday, June 28, to announce the grant, totalling $17,830.

     “Today, the Government of Ontario announced it is expanding strong mayor powers to 26 fast-growing communities with populations of 100,000 or more. Clarington is on that list.

  • Clarington is going cashless

    As part of our ongoing efforts to modernize and enhance our service offerings, Clarington will no longer be accepting cash payments for services at the following locations, effective August 1, 2023: 

    • Municipal Administrative Centre
    • Clarington Animal Shelter
    • Municipal Law Enforcement Office
    • All Fire Stations 

    The transition to a cashless payment process offers a modernized and safe way to complete transactions and was approved at the May 1 Council Meeting.
