Weight Restrictions

Signs are on municipal roads where weight restrictions apply year-round. The restrictions are reviewed every spring and are weather and road-condition-dependent.

When weight restrictions are in effect, vehicle loads are restricted to five (5) tonnes per axle in accordance with the provisions of the Highway Traffic Act R.S.O. 1990, cH8, s122.

Please note that weight restrictions for roads under the Region of Durham jurisdiction may also change at any time. Please contact the Region of Durham for details on their weight restrictions.
