Weight Restrictions
Signs are on municipal roads where weight restrictions apply year-round. The restrictions are reviewed every spring and are weather and road-condition-dependent.
When weight restrictions are in effect, vehicle loads are restricted to five (5) tonnes per axle in accordance with the provisions of the Highway Traffic Act R.S.O. 1990, cH8, s122.
The 2026 spring weight restrictions for roads under the jurisdiction of the Municipality of Clarington will be implemented on Monday, March 9, and will tentatively run until April 30. The actual finish date will be based on current road conditions and the forecasted thaw period.
