Due to the current dry conditions and deteriorating air quality, Clarington Emergency and Fire Services has implemented a burn ban for Clarington, effective immediately. This proactive measure prioritizes the health and safety of individuals in the area.
No burning is allowed in urban areas. Natural-gas- or propane-fuelled fire pits are allowed if they are installed according to the owner’s manual.
Clarington Emergency and Fire Services issue open-air burning permits for properties 10 acres or greater. The permit only allows for burning brush.
Burning permits will not be issued for fire pits or campfires, wood-fuelled chimineas, burning garbage or building materials.
Clarington Emergency and Fire Services is not accepting Open-Air Burning Permit applications due to the burn ban that is currently in place.
