Energy Conservation and Demand Management

Clarington staff are always working to find ways to save energy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions across the corporation.

The Clarington Energy Conservation and Demand Management Plan 2025-2029 outlines energy-saving priorities and guides staff work. In addition, each year the Municipality submits a report on energy use across the Municipality to the Ministry of Energy.

Durham Community Energy Plan

Building on our corporate energy management initiatives, Clarington participated in the development of the Durham Community Energy Plan (DCEP). The DCEP is an action-oriented, community-focused plan to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas pollution, save money and create good jobs.
