Clarington steps up: new cell towers to be added throughout the community
Clarington, Ontario – Clarington has taken another step toward improving local cellular connectivity. On October 28, Council approved a report directing staff to partner with Shared Tower to build cellular infrastructure on municipally owned properties.
Clarington Council approves design vision for park on the former lands of the Bowmanville ZooClarington, Ontario – Clarington Council has approved the Master Plan for the future 34-acre park on the former lands of the Bowmanville Zoo, located just north of Highway 2 in east Bowmanville. The project will now advance to the detailed design of phase one, focusing on a trail network within the park to start construction next year and open in 2026.
A Roadmap for the future: Clarington finalizes Parks, Recreation and Culture Master PlanOn October 28, 2024, Council approved Clarington’s first Parks, Recreation and Culture Master Plan (PRCMP). This document will serve as a roadmap to inform future Council decisions about Clarington’s parkland, programs and services, and what’s needed to grow with the community for the next 10 to 15 years.
Clarington receives funding for Greenhouse Gas Reduction Pathway Feasibility StudyClarington, Ontario – Clarington has received a $166,080 grant from the Federation of Canadian Municipalities’ Green Municipal Fund (GMF) to conduct a feasibility study that will help identify ways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from Municipal buildings. This grant, which is being provided through GMF’s Community Buildings Retrofit initiative, will help the Municipality respond to and mitigate the effects of climate change.
Be aware of unpaid parking ticket scamWe have been made aware of a recent scam in the area where residents are receiving text messages and emails from the Municipality about outstanding parking tickets, requesting they pay the outstanding fees online.

Newly renovated Orono Arena celebrates reopening with a free public skateClarington, Ontario – The Municipality of Clarington is pleased to announce the reopening of Orono Arena following extensive renovations inside the building. Mayor Foster and members of Council, along with members of the Orono Amateur Athletic Association, officially marked the reopening with a complimentary public skate on September 28.
