South Courtice Arena: Twin Pad Expansion Feasibility Study
The Municipality of Clarington is undertaking a feasibility study to explore the addition of two NHL-sized ice pads to the South Courtice Arena (SCA) on Prestonvale Road, as recommended in the Parks, Recreation and Culture Master Plan.
As of fall 2026, the Municipality has retained CS&P Architects to undertake the feasibility study, which will evaluate:
- Land requirements to accommodate a twin-pad expansion
- Site servicing, infrastructure and other technical requirements
- Traffic, parking, access and site circulation impacts
- Opportunities to integrate the expansion with SCA's existing indoor and outdoor amenities
- Capital and operating cost implications
The study also includes a provisional conceptual design phase. Following a review of the feasibility findings, the Municipality may proceed with the development of conceptual design options for the proposed expansion, based on future budget approvals.
