Bowmanville Community Complex

Formerly South Bowmanville Recreation Centre

The wait is nearly over for Clarington's biggest-ever destination for sport and community life to open its doors, marking the first new recreation facility in nearly 20 years. Officially named the Bowmanville Community Complex (formerly the South Bowmanville Recreation Centre), here you'll feel Clarington's unstoppable team spirit come alive as neighbours compete, connect and cheer each other on.

At more than 172,000 square feet once complete, it is expected to welcome more than 675,000 visits each year, making it one of the busiest and most active community spaces in Clarington.
You're invited! Be among the first to experience it at the upcoming Open House, featuring family-friendly activities, giveaways and more!

Fun fact! The dome is so big that Clarington’s largest recreation facility today, the Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex, could fit inside it – with roughly 20,000 square feet to spare.

Did you know? A landmark feature of the new facility is its multi-sport dome, which will offer more than 100,000 square feet of indoor turf for year-round play. About four times larger than the former Bowmanville Indoor Soccer Centre, the dome is built for everything from soccer, lacrosse, football, rugby, softball, baseball, cricket, and ultimate frisbee to dryland training and other activities, including a three lane, 370 metre indoor walking track.

It's almost game time!

New programs coming to Bowmanville Community Complex this fall. Thanks to community feedback, we’ve lined up new programming residents asked for, like sports leagues, evening and weekend kids’ activities, walking programs on the indoor track, and more. Be first to experience this modern multi‑sport destination!

Community sports organizations, including local leagues and sport groups, will manage their own registration timelines.
