Current Zoning By-laws
The Official Plan sets out Clarington's general policies for future land use. Our Zoning By-laws implement the policies of the Official Plan and allow for its day-to-day administration by overseeing things like:
- Land uses (retail stores, factories, residential homes, etc.)
- The location of buildings
- Building size and height
- Building design
- Other provisions which result in high-quality development
Clarington has two zoning by-laws:
- Zoning By-Law 84-63 regulates the development of land within Clarington between Lake Ontario and the Oak Ridges Moraine.
- Zoning By-law 2005-109 applies to lands within Clarington that are located on the Oak Ridges Moraine.
